We are associated with two of the finest and highly reputable print studios in Scandinavia
They use old printing techniques, where the paper has direct contact with the printing material like stone and plate. These techniques attract artists as it achieves the highest quality of creating original graphic prints. In the process, where a single colour at a time is applied, the work progresses throughout weeks, in an atmosphere with intense concentration between the artist and the printer. As the spirit of the moment is captured and preserved on the paper
Atelje Larsen
“The graphic artist Thomod Larsen established Atelje Larsen in 1972, and he was pioneering for what is today called graphic workshops, which basically means a close cooperation between the artist and the technician. In 1977, I took over the atelje from my father. Artists of different nationalities are today working in the atelje”
“The technique is gravure, where the image is transferred to a metal plate and etched in. It’s a time consuming process from idea to final result, during which period of time the artist will work in the atelje.”
